Instant Pot Swedish Meatballs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs and milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes until breadcrumbs absorb the milk.
2. Add ground beef, ground pork, egg, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, ground allspice, ground nutmeg, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
3. Form mixture into meatballs about 1-inch in diameter.
4. Set Instant Pot to sauté mode. Heat olive oil and brown meatballs on all sides. Work in batches if necessary. Remove meatballs and set aside.
5. Pour beef broth into the Instant Pot, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
6. Return meatballs to the pot. Close the Instant Pot lid and set to high pressure for 5 minutes.
7. Allow natural release for 5 minutes, then quick release. Remove meatballs and set aside.
8. In a bowl, mix heavy cream and flour until smooth. Stir mixture into the liquid in the Instant Pot.
9. Set Instant Pot to sauté mode again. Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.
10. Serve meatballs with the creamy sauce, garnished with fresh parsley.
